Smartfield appoints director of engineering
Smartfield, Inc. has appointed Tray Johnson as the company’s new director of engineering. Johnson previously served as a mechanical engineer designing, where he built and implemented many of Smartfield’s tools.
“Tray has been an integral part of Smartfield success,” Joel Hohenberger, chief operations officer, said in a news release. “Tray has applied his farming background to the development of our products and has demonstrated his ability to be a part of core team here at Smartfield.”
Johnson grew up in Olton and received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas Tech, graduating summa cum laude. He has been a lead engineer at Smartfield for more than five years.
Smartfield is a Lubbock-based technology/data company that develops and supplies crop and irrigation management solutions primarily in the agricultural industry.
